A week in the world of jams, chutneys & marmalades

It has been a very busy week for us both in the world of jams, chutneys & marmalades. Thank you for all the feed back on the new website. There was great excitement when we received our first internet order….wow. Remember if you live local to Wilmslow or Flixton email us and we can deliver.

We at Special Preserves donated over 130 of our miniature jars, affectionately know by us as ‘our babies’, filled with our yummy, jams, chutneys and marmalades , as table favours for a charity fund raiser at Gusto in Alderley Edge in aid of NSPCC. Must thank Kate Wilkinson & Jill Morris for organising a superb evening and also Alex Holt. He had a fantastic voice and a kept us all entertained. We will definitely be booking him for future events.

We made two trips to Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens. On Thursday for the farmers market, where Penny indulged herself in too many pork pie samples. The perks of the job. On Saturday Sarah enjoyed endless banter with a rival chutney stall, at the very busy Saturday bazaar. Our new line, aubergine pickle was a huge hit, so Sarah will be slaving over the jam pan this week making more.

Penny was a Northenden on Saturday, and the weather stayed sunny. The only down side was Lee from the record stall next door whose choice in music was very suicidal. After listening to Feel the Spirit CD ten times the only spirit Penny wanted was gin, or even meth’s would have done.

We have met so many lovely customers and fellow stall holders this week. It is why we love the markets so much.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend xxx

P.S. Look out for our new Mothers Day gifts showcasing at Ramsbottom on Sunday 11th March.
